A practical guide to the rare purple alternate cover of the Dead by Daylight Volume 1 soundtrack—what makes it collectible, who should buy it, and key trade-offs.
Quick answer
If you're a dedicated Dead by Daylight fan or vinyl collector who values rarity and alternate artwork, the purple variant of the Volume 1 soundtrack is a genuine find. But it ships separately from Canada, so factor in extra shipping time and cost.
Why the purple cover matters
The standard black pressing of the Dead by Daylight Volume 1 soundtrack is widely available. The purple alternate cover—produced in a limited run—has been out of print for years. Finding leftover copies is uncommon, which gives this version real collector appeal beyond just the music.
What you're actually getting
This is the same Volume 1 soundtrack tracklist as the standard release. The difference is the purple cover artwork and the scarcity. The catalog price is USD 21.95, but the current price is USD 15.58—a discount that reflects the leftover stock, not a quality difference.
Shipping and handling trade-off
Because this item requires special packaging, it ships separately from other purchases and originates from Canada. If you're ordering multiple items, expect split shipments and potentially longer delivery windows. This is a practical consideration, not a flaw.
Decision rules for the purple vinyl
- You value rarity: If owning an out-of-print variant with alternate artwork matters to you, this is a legitimate collector's piece. The purple cover is not being reprinted.
- You're okay with separate shipping: This item ships from Canada in special packaging. If you're ordering other merchandise, expect them to arrive separately. Factor in potential customs delays if outside Canada. Check your shipping address and estimated transit times before ordering.
- You want the music, not the collectible: If your main goal is to listen to the Dead by Daylight soundtrack on vinyl, the standard black pressing is cheaper to ship and easier to combine with other items. The audio is identical.
Product facts
- Dead By Daylight Soundtrack (Purple alternate cover): Leftover copies of the long out-of-print purple variant cover of the Volume 1 soundtrack. Ships from Canada in special packaging, separately from other purchases. The rarity and separate shipping mean you should plan for extra delivery time and consider combining it with other items only if you're okay with multiple packages.
